I've just purchased an Outwell Montana 6 for an absolute bargain, but find the carpet is waaay too expensive. So rather than buy that, I've bought a 3.5m x 4m portion of artificial grass for £35. Has anyone else done this?

I have some good quality artificial grass. A piece that size would take up most of the boot of a car, and weigh a huge amount. A wonderful material underfoot, but until it's much lighter and more compact I don't think I'll be taking our variety camping.

I'd be fascinated to see some pics of your grass in the tent?

The piece i bought is only 4mm thick, so hooefully will be ok. I had proper household carpet in my Carolina 3, but i have a van i take all my gear in.
My next trip is in 4 weeks to shell island, I'll post pics here.

Hi Lee, before we motorhomed, we used to have an Outwell Bear Lake 6 ( Rolls Royce of tents in our opinion) with the carpet. We bought it new and I think the carpet was included. I think the only problem with the artificial grass option is cleaning it after several months use. Is it the spikey astro turf type or the real look a like golf course green type. One of the benefits may be that you get that real ' bringing the outside-inside' camping experience. Hope it works for you
