I think I would be taking my chair and book into the heated shower block for the evening

Otherwise I would only camp at this time of year if I could have a fire to sit by. And logs on campsites are generally way more expensive than electric hook up!

The price one pays for non-luxury!

Have a great weekend, the site looks lovely.

They have probably gone now, so its ok to call them bl**dy mad! Coz he`s a "real" camper he wont have the luxury of a computer, so wont see this. Dark at 4pm and sitting in a tent, afraid its not for me, but as they are both "gagging for it" dark evenings could be a bonus. This will probably be our last w/end away this year and just hope it wont be as cold as last week. We had to have the heating on in all the rooms of the tin tent. Even had to turn the temp up in the shower, even a bit worried the water could freeze, stopping us from flushing the toilet in the bathroom. If by chance you do see this. ave a good un mate and I will be thinking of you when we both will be out there taking in the country air of early winter.

PS. Theres a really good late night film on Saturday... Woops, forgot you aint got a tv have you. Hope you packed your book and a candle.

Only being 40 mins away, we thought we'd have a late set off... so still here!

The last thing you want when you're camping (I use that term VERY loosely in this instance!) is frozen pipes and loo's that won't flush. How utterly horrendous would that be! Next you'll be complaining of condensation on the double glazing!

And as for tellies, we don't do late films even when we're at home! I tend to nod off too easily!

In all seriousness mate, I'm not a bit concerned about temps this weekend, looking at the forecast. Last weekend would have been a different matter though, to be fair!

Roll on the snow, so it insulates the tent a bit!

Have a great weekend you two... and don't forget yer Horlicks!

I don't know how to put photos on this site, otherwise I would put loads on, with camping in the snow for you lot.   There is one in my profile, taken from inside my tent. Looking out onto lovely fresh thick snow. It was taken January of this year.    Absolutely brill, even my dog enjoys camping in the snow, participating in snow baths, aka rolling around.
Nothing like sitting around a roaring campfire under a tarp, watching the the flames dance, the snowflakes fall, listening to the banter and laughter.   Bliss, not a EHU insight. Roll on Feb.

It is all a bit soggy here. The little ice and snow we had in the mountais has melted but we still have frosty mornings.
Roll on the snow. I have three new sites to try out, all in walking areas and all open in winter. No heated shower rooms though. That is for puffs.

Hi Ewen,
Sadly I fall into the puff category now ,but used to love it when I was younger.
Congratulations on your win by the way             Regards,

This, and then nothing. Have they frozen to death in a field somewhere? Has something gone wrong with the Karsten and he can't face 'fessing up? Speak to us O Mucker.

Life's been well, busy, so haven't been on here for a while.
Just noticed this and you say you haven't been to Shropshire. Neither had OH until a couple of years ago and he loves it. So much so we have been back several times since then. In fact it was the dogs' first ever camping trip too!
Lots to do, beautiful little villages, great for cycling and walking, beautfiful views etc.. Then there's Ironbridge, Bridgnorth and of course Shrewsbury.
If you've never done it, try it just once..I'm pretty sure you will go again and again.

Thanks, Floppers. I knew you were a fan. To be honest, Shrewsbury is top of my list now, as I'm certain We'll like everything in your list. Might wait until Spring though, as we struggled to find anywhere to accept tents on grass in winter, or even struggled to get some site's to answer their 'phone/respond to my voicemail, despite claiming to be "open all year"! That and the fact most places seemed to be "members only". Spring should open up our options. We've been to Ludlow a couple of times, which we liked, but really like the look of Shrewsbury and Ironbridge etc.

Deborah/Sean et al...
Apologies for the delay. We did get away, and did have a good time, but things went a bit haywire as soon as we got home, to say the least, and life got in the way, so whilst there will be pics and a trip report (and a site review!), it's gonna have to wait for now. Probably in the lull between Xmas and New Year now!

Saw your post on the other board, Mucker.

Camping is such an escape, such a battery charger, and then real life really needs you. Wishing you all love and strength.

Relieved, anyway, that it wasn't Dodgy Karsten business that kept you away.
