Christmas day must be the only day of the year presents DONT arrive at our house. Every other day parcels seem to arrive from amazon, ebay and God knows where else. Did that Santa bloke invent online shopping for my wife to use every time I walk out the door. Still she did let me buy her a caravan last year for a late Christmas present so it will be hard to beat that this year. Perhaps I will put the 2017 site fees bill in an envelope to her and see what happens.
Mrs Reid has made bags for France.... a loo roll holder with a pocket for soap & hand gel complete with matching dishwashing bag, washup liquid & pocket for sink plug & dishcloth...I'm sure the kids will be thrilled when they unwrap their pressie! But then DD cannot complain next summer.
I can't work out my identity as a camper: part glampy-bunting-retro stuff, part bushcraft. I have retro melamine plates in neopolitan ice cream colours - and enamel, too. I don't know which style to build on.
Frazzle: my grandmother had one. Made the best toasties. A proper sealed edge.
I have now seen some lovely Orla Keily melamine plates, in a blue swirly design, in John Lewis that I would hanker after if I thought it reasonable to spend that amount of money on plates for camping.
I didn't want to jinx it but Father Christmas came through: one of those Outwell heated carpets everyone sneers at. We've a lot of reloes with us for Christmas so the Gelert Beech camping sofa is set up in the sitting room and earning its keep. I've put the electric carpet over it and the combination seems to induce sleep in about 30 seconds. Ideal for controlling the in-laws. It's definitely coming with us on our next trip - if I can get the cat off it.
Hoping everyone's had a blessed Christmas. Fingers crossed for a less weird 2017.
Santa brought a very surprised and pleased Jelboy a Dutch Oven!! and have been assured there maybe a tripod shaped pressie among my birthday packages later this month...
Heading to Glencoe next weekend so will be cooking something over an open fire in it(Even if its just sausage and beans)
Jelboy.

Just had a first play with the firepit and tripod/grill. V pleased.
Considering a special trip to Chateau Monfreville just to up the ante in the glamping cookery stakes. (We lose by miles on the tent but win heavily on the ambitious cookery.)
