when we camped we had gas cooker , gas lamps , & used the car cigar lighter to charge phones ect we used a good quality coolbox & refroze the ice block packs in the camp site freeze all the lot together is a lot less weight than your battery I really do not understand why you need such a set up

Taking a power bank or leisure battery is far more convenient than using the car.
Also, a 3 way fridge is far better than cool box for keeping the beer cold!

this I understand ,BUT the op will not be able to run fridge or a electric cool box off a 12v battery for more than a few hours so why carry a 10 to 20kg battery & the extension lead to recharge their phone & operate a 12v light.a phone or laptop can be charged from the car cig socket with out any detrimental effect on the car battery which will be recharged each time they used their car???

Well, I cannot speak for the OP but I use a fairly similar setup I do take a leisure battery (24kg) and various cables to power lights and charge gadgets.
I do not need it for my fridge as that runs on gas.

Why would I want to go to my car every time I want to charge my phone or tablet, or one of the kids devices? Also, why limit myself to AA or D powered lanterns which are usually pretty poor compared to 12v?
Carrying my 24kg battery the 10ft from my car to the tent isn't exactly an inconvenience. Each to their own, my system works for me, the OPs works for them and I am sure yours is fine for you.

Miss Baritone if that's all you need power for and it's only for a couple of days you would be far better off with one of these for charging your phone/kindle etc and then ant camping might that charges from USB to go with it. There are hundreds but I have one of these which is brilliant. Charges from solar too and needs very little sun. Really bright for what it is.
Would be much cheaper and easier. But it's only an opinion!

Unfortunately our shows last about 14 days. I use battery operated lights at present but don't really find them bright enough so prefer a plug in light. Charging the kindle is of minor importance compared to that.

exactly same as you Damian - my fridge runs off gas on non ehu and also theres some places i camp where you cannot have your vehicle next to or even near the tent.
OldChap - i dont always camp on organised camping sites - when i go to the north of scotland - wild camping is the norm there ... but sometimes the tent pitch can be some distance from the nearest road access / parking place.

We never use electricity. We dont have any gas powered things, I didnt even know there were such things!

We have a stove and fire pit to keep warm. We take a cool bag with things in them that dont need to be kept too cold.

We use rechargable batteries to use in lights and mostly have those scout, pretendy oil lamps. We have an awful lot of lights as I dont like to be in dimly lit environments when the ground is not flat.

We use the car to power up phones etc. One of our cool bags is also electric which can be plugged into the car if need be
