We have 3 long weekends booked at our favourite site, the Old Oaks in Glastonbury , starting next weekend! Two separate weeks booked in Cornwall and hopefully a few weekends in the New Forest, September have a lovely cottage booked in Scotland bear to the Trossachs.....and then it's nearly Christmas 😉
My son (9) and I tried out camping last year with some success, so I have just invested in a new inflatable tent to make my life a little easier (hopefully).
So far we have booked the first May Bank Holiday in Brean, and have persuaded the parents to bring their caravan along too as it will be my first outing with the new tent (too big to put up in my garden).
A couple of other weekends booked, followed by a week in Derbyshire in July and a week in Cornwall in August.

We aren't camping for our main holiday this year - I was outvoted in the family debate.
We are doing a week in a static caravan (so maybe that almost counts?) at an all singing all dancing holiday park, followed by a week in a cottage for me to recover from the trauma of the previous week! Bars and clubs and lots of people and children is really not my idea of a holiday - but as I say, I was outvoted.
We ar planning a few weekends away but nothing booked yet, because I'm waiting for gallbladder surgery, so best get that sorted first.
Could you not leave them to the joys of the holiday park and just join them in the cottage?
Sadly not! I'm the only driver, so I will have to drive them there. But as they will be well entertained, and can walk into town from there, I will probably take off on my own for at least one day and leave them with their dad!
However that means I will have to let him have a day off as well won't I!
I could take the tiny tent and have an overnight stay somewhere quiet....
You've got me thinking now!

Oh I got all excited about a new site in Glastonbury - but it's adult only.
I'll just have to wait another 10 years or so for the kids to grow up! Lol
A week each in Scilly (St Martins), Lake District, Cornwall, plus a couple of weekends lined up. Really excited this year as we are camping with a new set up with not so much clutter.
------------- Aug 2017 St Martins Campsite, Scilly
Jul 2017 Trewan Hall, Cornwall
Jun 2017 Higher Kestle Farm, Cornwall
Mar 2017 Pitch Perfect camping Bath
Aug 2016 Brittany/Normandy:-
La Ferme Croas Men (near Morlaix)
Le Ranolien (Ploumanac'h)
Le Bois Courdrais (Cugen)
Chateau de Montfreville (Montfreville)
Thinking of booking a few trips in the coming week. Somewhere close to Glastonbury. Somewhere in the Cotswolds, and I'd love to go back to Lake District as well. Though the first 2 are more likely as off to Thailand for 3 weeks in July/August :) Any sites recommended for first 2 are greatly appreciated!
