Thinking of using the tent for 4 nights over the Easter weekend. We have booked our favourite spot for may half term down in the south of France but have only ever tended to wait until May to use our tent at the earliest.....
What is it like camping at Easter when the weather is still quite unpredictable? Anything you would really recommend we think about before we book? I know the overnight temp can still drop in....?
Help and advice would be really appreciated as we are looking to use the tent more!
i had ice on the inside of my porch windows and it was wonderfully exhilirating waking up to the fresh icey cold air!.
get dressed and get moving and the blood flowing, lots of layers on and soon warm up and enjoy & embrace the fresh frosty air!.
stove on, hot coffee watching the steam rise...
cant beat early in the year camping - pity easter is so late into the year this year!

I have booked for the 4 nights over easter weekend in Essex, might get cold in late afternoon and evening. I am seriously considering getting a Robens tipi with a stove to keep it comfy.
We have had Easter booked for ages, whatever the weather we will go (well not if we have force 9 winds, we aren't totally stupid). You just need to be prepared for whatever the weather throws at you. Hubby and I were just laughing yesterday at our Easter 2012 trip, we bought a new tent after that ;)

We are doing Easter too and decided not to bother with EHU on the basis we got away without it with a little preparation on a couple of previous trips in cooler weather. As others have said, well insulated beds and thick blankets are the key. bring a fleece to pop in your sleeping bag as well as on top just in case. We use camp beds with a SIM on top for cold weather, if it were an air bed then insulate under the airbed. Oh, and another thing.. EHU or not, can highly recommend the "bog in a bag" so you don't need to leave the tent for the loo in the night if it gets that cold!
