Purchased a Westfield Carina 350 awning from them at the NEC Show in February arrived 9th March good time but I was unable to try it because of winnter storage until 8th April. Basicly the flap off material which holds the storm strap ripped away the first time I tried to put it up. Contacted PJ because of the way it happened I am requesting a refund PJ say they dont give refunds only offer repair or replacment. Anyone have a comment or similer experiance.

Unfortunately you were 1 day outside outside the 30 day period where consumer law allows refunds from retailer without question for faulty goods. The retailer now is within the law by offering repair or replacement. If you do get a refund it will only be goodwill not legal requirement.

It does illustrate the importance of inspecting goods carefully on arrival even if they will not be used for a while.

We had a problem with a carpet that was bought as a package from the NEC show 3 yrs ago from PJ but when we used it for the first time in the May there were pulled threads, they sent out a new one straightaway and we also kept the damaged one as a spare.

Maybe because it was a smaller item we got a replacement?
