I am so excited just got my 1st camping trip of the year booked. I have finally worn my partner down to come with me (nagging really does work) lol. I got my new tent at xmas and have been itching to go away.
I do need some advice though. My 4 year old daughter is a very fussy eater just wondering if anyone has any tips on getting her to eat.
Thanks in advance.
I hope you have a fantastic time with your first trip away, where are you going?
Not much help with the fussy eating I am afraid, I am very black and white. My two had to eat what they had put in front of them.......There was nothing else! It worked. 😀👍
That's great. Thanks. I am hoping it will help her eat better.
She has already told me you cook marshmallows when you go camping.
Thanks for all the help.
We tend to adapt what we have at home to what I can manage on two burners. Mine love m&s tinned chicken curry, anything on the BBQ, pasta dishes, minuet steak sandwiches and cheesy beef nachos. I also don't worry too much about balance when we are camping, sometimes my daughter just works her way through a tube of pringles.
4 year olds can help make loads of things that are easy to cook when camping. We take packs of tortilla or other 'wrap' style bread, put it in a frying pan, spread with grated or sliced cheese and anything else you fancy, slivers of ham, or tuna, or a spread of Salsa dip from a jar, put another wrap on top, heat both sides, cut into quarters. A great lunch, easy to eat with fingers if you don't load it with too much filling.
I second the M&S chicken curry, been on every trip with us since we started camping!
Camping is just for a few days and tinned and dried food of the variety kids like is just fine (beans, spaghetti hoops, pasta etc) will be just fine.
One of the keys to getting our daughter to try new foods was having her help with the preparation.. I guess it took the mystery away so she was more willing to try new things.

My daughter went through a phase of not wanting to eat anything that came from an animal. Every time she was given something she asked where it came from and when told a cow or a sheep she wouldn't eat it.
One day her grandma was looking after her and gave her some sausages. She asked, 'Where do these come from, nan? Nan replied, 'Marks and Spencer'.
