Hi, Asking for some help. We have just brought a Cabanon Pyrmide IV tent from a Scout Jumble Sale. It is in great condition however is missing all the poles. Is anyone able to help either with Poles or specifically with the length / dimensions / pictures of the poles so that I can get some made up. I have tried Cabanon and their re-sellers in the UK and, despite claiming to service poles back to 1970, are unable to provide poles or drawings.
Any help would be really welcome.
Hello and welcome.
You made a good find there. We have its successor the Guadeloupe, but it might be too much of a long shot to assume that a Guadeloupe pole would work; the diameter will be probably the same given that it is holding up a similar weight of canvas, but the height could be slightly different. I am a bit surprised that the company cannot advise, as their customer service is usually good.
Is it possible to peg the tent out and use a sturdy pole of some kind to lift the apex to its proper height and make a measurement of the required height to extend the tent fully? The girth is ( i think) about 32mm. We won't be getting ours out for a while otherwise I would offer to measure the diameter to be sure.
I hope you find a solution, these are lovely tents.
Hi Foggers,, thanks for your reply. As you say, I am not sure if the Guadeloupe is the same pole dimensions. We have discovered that the centre pole is 216cms. Cabanon have been able to find drawings but no dimensions and certainly can not provide me with new poles. I have estimated the door poles and plan for on making a jig to test the dimensions and then make / get made a set of poles. For reference, the Distance between the top of door pins is 925 cms, the pole length From top to the corner is 195 cms at an angle of 125 degrees with a base width of 3m. If your Guadeloupe is anywhere no like that it would be good to know.
Thanks once again for your reply.

Hi,
There's currently a Pyramide 4 for sale on ebay (£80 or offers). Might be worth a punt?
Hi Simon,
I understand there may be more than one design /configuration for the Pyramide tents (according to my friend who is quite knowledgeable about these matters).
I have a Pyramide whih is the TD 904 model. It has twin poles and a frame. I would be happy to try to spec out the pole set for you if yours is the same - it is basically a frame tent with ladder section in the roof and chopped off (flat topped) A frames to the front(from memory). I shall post some pictures of it on the site so you can compare.

Hi all, Thank you for your help. I have since discovered that there are a variety of different Pyrmaid IV tents. A helpful Pyramid IV owner kindly unpacked, measured and photographed her Pyramid which has proved really useful.
I managed to get a set of poles from www.tentawningclinic.co.uk/ and then cut / adjust these to fit. All good and going on first family camping trip next month (after a trial run in the garden).
For reference, details attached below:
There are 4 poles in total. One centre, two (one either side of the door) and one over the doorway.
The centre pole is 222cm long, in three pieces, but 222cm when together. Approx 2cm in diameter, metal foot at one end, rubber top to protect canvas. About 40cm down from top is a fixture with hooks for the inner to hang from.
2 poles the same for either side of the door. Slightly thinner diameter (not much) 185cm each with plastic stopper At bottom and small metal pin at top to fit through cross bar and tent canvas (via rivet holes) there should probably be plastic or rubber washers here too, but I don't have any.
The cross bar (pole) is 90cm Inc plastic end pieces with holes for the pins of the doorway poles.
