Just to introduce myself on here first my name is Paul Now that is over back to the question.

I was wondering if anyone on here spends most of the Spring, Summer and Autumn living in there tents working at various events up and down the country (UK) in all weathers?

I do traffic control and car parking yes we are the ones that set up road diversions that send you round in circles lol.

My parents have worked for Eurocamp for years as couriers and repair and maintenance, all over France, Italy, Germany and Austria. It has made for some awesome holidays!!

There was a young lady posted last year about staying in her tent while working for the summer. She had to move pitch several times, to let the grass recover, but seemed to enjoy the experience.

One thing to bear in mind is that campsites are licenced for leisure activities, so may be in breach of their planning if they let workers stay.

I have a few mates who work all around the country at any time of year and during the campsite opening season try to tent camp in order to benefit from their working away allowance. Most of them have eventually ended up with a decent quality bell-tent as your average camping tent wont stand up to the rigours of longterm usage. A 4mt tent seems to work fine for one person --easily erected and with room for a few luxuries eg table, chair, decent bed,tv.
Not the cheapest to buy --but looked after you should see a few years service from it.
Depending on your situation--add an ehu or even a small generator and your off! kettle..microwave..amp for your guitar etc etc

I'm at Goodwood Festival of Speed from tomorrow for a week and then down to the Kent County Show 5 days then back up north for Great Yorkshire Show then back down south for the British Grand Prix so will be living in my tent for a few weeks.

I have to travel for work and training too and I find it great staying on campsites! So much less stressful than trying to book a hotel and fork out a small fortune every time!
As long as you have an ehu and a few home comforts (I bring the good blankets and my cosiest fleeces).
In the winter months I borrow my dad's campervan though for the extra warmth!
