Off camping this weekend.   New to all this electric hook up. I purchased a hook up lead from a friend - it has all the correct fittings and a four plug lead on the end.     However, on reading about hook-up safety this one doesn't have an RCD unit.
Can I use it on its own - we are going to run an electric cool box and an electric 2-ring cooker.   Plus will be using it for charging phones, tablets and hair dryer.
If I need to include RCD - can I buy one to attach and where would I buy one from?
Thanks for your help.

I think you will need a proper hook up unit. I've recently got one of these, delivered within 2 days!

Not sure if this advice is what you've been reading, but you do need an RCD built into the unit.

If it is just a commando plug with a regular 4 gang socket on the other end I would throw it in the nearest bin and go and buy a proper hookup. They aren't safe for camping.

Thank you for your responses.    I'll ditch the one I have and make sure I have the safety one.
