Please give me a sunny, dry pack up on Monday.
Currently rain, shine, rain, shine. If it is wet on Monday I will have the Alaska and the cotton tarp to dry out. They both weigh a ton when wet.

I know how you feel Ewen c, my wife and I were in the Wash area a few years ago, and had to pack the tent in the pouring rain.
Thankfully, the next day at home it was dry enough to have an erection in the garden to dry it out.
James
I could say that an erection in the garden is not reliant on the weather but my wife would kill me.
Luckily we have a large garage.

It really is glorious here at forest fields Tracey, the whole field is lit up by the moon.
At least you should have a dry pack up, it's not forecast to rain till 6pm :)
I am ok packing up on the campsite and driving home but I get that horrible 'end of holiday' feeling after arriving home and while I am packing my stuff away. I get it every time, sometimes worse than others, but I don't know why because I am retired and could go camping again at any time. I suppose it's just a 'back to the old routine' sort of feeling

We had a lovely dry pack up thanks and a good (5 hour) journey home.
Shame we didn't get to say hello (or maybe we did without knowing!). Whereabouts were you pitched?

It is a shame but maybe next time :) the king DQ definitely want to come again. We are pitched on the main field, the last tent before the 3 caravan seasonal pitches along the tree line.

We've never been up there, we always like to be down in the main area. We were really lucky this year, got our favourite big pitch behind the shed were the bins and firepit etc are. I think I've only ever met one person whow said the site wasn't for them and they wouldn't return.
Enjoy the rest of your stay.

It's not as horrible as when you have to start packing up to go home and it's chucking it down!
Oh believe me we've done that plenty of times! My point was we'd had very hit and miss weather for the 8 nights we'd been there and then on our last night, getting ready to go home, it was glorious. I do appreciate a nice dry, wind free pack up!
