So some little pest decided to run off with the bags for my Khyam Ontario 8 during packdown at the last event I was at - both the main bag AND the pole bag (which had the two poles to hold a door up as a sun awning in it, so I know they didn't blow away!)
I was hoping they were just picked up by someone else in the group by mistake and would turn up post-unpacking back home, but sadly not.
So, any decent places to get replacement tent bags? Or suggestions for alternative approaches are also welcome! Whatever I go for needs to be able to go through a moderate size loft hatch with limited maneuvering room - for that reason I've always kept the poles out of the main bag or it's just a bit to much to manage solo...
I don't know your tent, but am assuming it is a large 8 person tent?
What about replacement light canvas bags for a bell tent such as those from Boutique Camping, Pukka, and so forth? These are available for both 4 and 5 metre bell tents and are good quality.
Blacks of G do massive lace up polypropylene bags? They are cheap, and cheaper still from "NearlyNewTents", their discounted products wing..available in 2 sizes?
Then there are surplus military kit/duffel bags from various sites and ebay?
I don't know the length of your poles, but Toolstaion do canvas "tool" bags of various lengths up to about, 75cms (if I recall?) for relative peanuts, really cheap, that I use for poles on some of my tents?
I got a custom bag made (for some unruly curved poles) by www.bags2cover.co.uk and was very happy with the quality and service. Made-to-order is not necessarily cheap, however.
