I want to buy an air beam tent and have pretty much narrowed my choice down to:
* Outdoor Revolution Airedale 5
* Kampa Hayling 4
* Kampa Paloma 4, 5 or 6
* Vango Capri 400XL, 500XL or 600XL

I would normally buy a tent when I find a tent I like at a price I can afford which I have done with all the tents above. However I am aware that I will be spending more on a tent than I have ever done before and I am worried that if I buy now, there may be changes to the tents mentioned for 2018 or even one that I haven't considered that will meet my needs better! AAARGGHHHHH!!!!

My needs are pretty straightforward:
* maximum weight 25kg
* space for 4 to sit comfortably
* easy to put up and pack away alone
* space for 3 camp beds in the bedroom
* canopy for cooking under

I usually camp alone so I don't need a huge tent but when I go away with friends I need to know we will all fit inside in the evenings or if the weather is bad. It is unlikely that my 2 boys will come camping with my but I would like to keep that option open which is why I need a bedroom that can fit our 3 camp beds in.

Do I buy now (and maybe get an end of season deal?) or do I wait and see what the 2018 tents are like but run the risk of the prices increasing and not being able to afford to buy one at all?

Any advice about when is the best time to buy or any comments on the tents mentioned would be very much appreciated. Thank you xx

This is the issue lots of people have.
The trade off for getting a bargain at this time of year are can you get to see the tents pitched and are they actually available.

We were in a similar situation a few weeks ago and eventually decided to bite the bullet and get something from the end of season sale.

Our original budget was for a polyester 6-8 berth airbeam package deal (Illusion / rivendale xl) with a couple of extras like a roof protector to help with longevity as it was quite a lot more than we are used to spending. Buying in the end of season sales meant for less than we originally budgeted we managed to get a polycotton tent that was more than big enough for our needs and with the bonus of being able to check the reviews on here from other owners.

Yes there may be changes to next years model for design and price but I'm happy knowing that I have a well reviewed tent for much less than I would have had to pay at the start of next season.

The main downside is I now have a brand new tent that I am itching to take camping but the OH won't allow until the weather picks up a bit. Roll on Spring 2018

Save for the fact that you have specified that you want an airbeam tent; so often I read the specs. of a persons requirements, and so often, despite my preferences, I come up with the option of a bell tent?

We’ve just bought a poled Hayling 4 and got a really good buy.
I contacted Kampa who said there are no changes to the Hayling in 2018. Not sure if that applies to the air version too.

Hi Dawn, we got it from Camping World, a package with carpet and footprint. It arrived in less than 24 hours too.

I often buy things that I think are a bargain and then spend ages looking at other shops 'just in case I could have got it cheaper'. Mostly I can't find it cheaper but it's really depressing if I can

My suggestion is to buy one of those you like at a price you feel is good now, and then not to look any further...just in case you are disappointed

Totally agree Bob61.
We've been watching the price of this tent for quite a while and got it for a price we're happy with.
If it's any cheaper on Black Friday I will cry
