I think we've only used all weather pitches at Fforest Fields, which are nothing like those above! We have found it's best to put something underneath the campbeds if you use them as you do get a sort of scuffing which can go through groundsheet and footprint. We use pringles lids or just some thick foam and we don't have a problem. That said, our tent is usually bigger than the pebbled area so we tend to put our bedroom pods onto the grass as we walk about less in there and there is less chance of damage to the tent from the bed legs.
On the plus side you come away with a much cleaner footprint! We like to pitch up to the edge of the grass so we walk out onto it. I wouldn't miss out on a great holiday just because it was AWP, that said, I wouldn't be going back to the one above!
