Hi, My wife has just ordered a new 2017 Vango Illusion 500xl. Just a quick thanks to this forum for comments and info available.
It was a bit tents (tense) there was one showing in stock online but we couldn't complete the checkout process, it was in our basket, we kept getting the 'currently unavailable' message. Apparently they had sold 4 since 1am this morning, we didn't want to miss a bargain.
My wife ended up phoning Taunton leisure and they were very very helpful, they did it all manually over the phone. We got the last one and it'll arrive tomorrow.
Now on with the hard work of finding a site for possibly this May half term, then summer hols . We will be searching through the camping site reviews on this forum now.
I am always wary of 'the last one'. Make sure you check it out thoroughly as soon as you can (and certainly before your first trip) to make sure everything is there and there is no damage. The last thing you need is to arrive at a campsite to find a pole missing or a big tear in the roof.
That applies to any newly purchased tent but especially 'the last one' they may have just dug out from under a pile of throw backs in the stock room...no slur intended on Taunton Leisure as I don't know the company and they may have saved the best one till last
Thanks for the advice, we had seen the tent on their website a couple of weeks ago, the quantity available was double figures then, even as we were deciding this morning there were 4 showing, it was only once we made our minds up to go for it that we had checkout issues.
It should all be healthy 2017 stock as they are making space for the new 2018 models from Vango arriving next week. It's still new and we have the Vango 2 year warranty also.
But as you said, as with anything new there is always the possibility, fingers crossed.

Just found out the Vango Illusion is an Airbeam so won't have any poles
Hopefully not... But I knew what you meant. It arrived today, the DPD courier wasn't very happy that they expected him to deliver it himself. All 42kg of it.
