Easy for people who use woodburning stoves in tents to say 'it's fine'. Unless there's insurance in place to replace tents belonging to other people in the event of spark-damage, I think it's fine only on huge campsites where others can pitch some considerable distance away.
We once had a Cabanon Elzas where the PVC kitchen window flap and roof had tiny holes, courtesy of an adjacent camp fire. Not visible until after removal of the roof liner.
Well, you say that but bear in mind that when I'm using my stove the closest thing to my flue is MY tent and I'll be making damn sure that there are no sparks coming out that could hit that... You will probably find people in a tent with a stove are more paranoid about that kind of thing.
Camp fires however are another matter. As there is no fabric in the immediate vicinity people forget about sparks and how far they can travel...
