Hi guys,
Hoping for your expertise. We're new to the camping game. We bought our first tent last summer a vango iccarus 500 which we have used twice and love. We have just bought the awning to go on the front.
So I was wondering what are the best led lights for the tent and are there any beds you could reccomend for children which are really comfy.
Also reccomendations for racking camping chairs or ones with a foot rest. Thank you x

We have airgo sims which are just so comfortable. Last year our son had a campbed with a cheap sim on top but this year will have a Sim on the floor as we do.

We use the ThermaRest XL DreamTime sims, bought back in 2008.
And for when our Son visits the campsite we have a Aldi sim for him. Which he said was fine.

As for camping lights, there are some decent Cree led lanterns around these days, we have a couple of the Outwell 400lx lanterns, each takes 6 rechargeable "D" (LR20) cells.

If buying today I would look for a lantern that runs on lithium ion cells, 18650 or better still 2170 cells.

Beds for children? - We have always used roll mats for them to sleep on on the ground. Oldest child is currently 13. We have an airbed & are thinking about a thick SIM as we both have bad backs. However until we had children we used to use roll mats to sleep on.

I have several lights, but end up using this one the most. Small, light, several light levels and lasts pretty much a full week of summer camping with a few hours in the evening. It's about the size of a tin of Tuna but 1.5 tins high.

Lanktoo

I also have a couple of smaller ones which didn't come up in the search but have been used as the kids night lights for the last 6 months and they are still going strong charged every 3 days.

These and be easily hung in the middle of the Tent. A lanten can be useful but with 3 or 6 D batteries they are heavy.

I also have a cheap set of LED strip lights that run off USB so can can be plugged into a USB charger or USB power pack. These were around £8 and are in the porch area.

I like the look of that Lanktoo - chuckled at the write-up on Amazon, too. Who doesn't like fastly charging things while hicking or camping?!

Thanks for the recommendation of the Lanktoo. Just checked it out and it's currently available on a Lightning deal on Amazon so I got a bit of a discount.

We've only been campers for a year, but my children (15,12 & 10) have a zempire speedy campbed each (£40 from winfields) with a zempire 7.5cm SIM on top (£25 from winfields). Everyone who gave us advice when we were buying our first set of equipment was "do not skimp on sleeping equipment". It was good advice and these beds are fantastic. Originally my husband and I bought an outwell posadas double camp bed but it was sooo uncomfortable! We sold it and bought two more of the zempire beds the kids use. As for lights, we bought led rechargeable lanterns on Amazon which double as a power bank and torch for about £30 and they're pretty good. We've also just bought a vango 4 metre led light strip for when we are camping with ehu. I love this light! Its remote control and dimmable, looks amazing at night. This was also £30. Happy camping 😁

Recently bought this led light rope https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bonlux-Waterproof-Backpacking-Emergencies-Backligh........   and tried it out at the weekend and was really impressed. It runs off a usb power bank.
