Always had a T4 camper with awning so not no familiar with tent options. Any recommendations... has to sleep 2 adults, a 3 year old and her growing in future. Also a medium sized dog. Preferably with living area. Is sewn un ground better? Had some issues with awning as had gaps round sides where doors overlooked ground but wind would blow and water and up running in so thinking one piece better? Budget about £100 if that's possible?
Sewn in groundsheet definitely better, especially as without a dog can escape under the tent wall.
Your budget is not really possible for a new tent that meets those needs and will last until your child grows much more!
Look at second hand or the Millets online tent sale currently has good bargains for some good tents, some close to your budget.
But of the ones they have I would go for the Vango Iris 5 which is above your budget. Roomy, and you can add a porch extension for more space in the future.
Or one of the cheaper tents and add a tarp for more undercover space in front.
Thanks for that info. I would be willing to pay extra if it will last and be fit for purpose.
With that tent, I csnt really tell from the pictures on website but it looks like the front door doesn't zip closed fully? Looks like an overlap with maybe velcro to fasten. Dog will get through! If you know what I mean , is this the case or am I just seeing it wrong.
Just seen this on Camping Recycled (Vango Clearance) on Ebay, Okay not at the £100 mark, but I think ticks all your boxes, and I think £200 is a very good price.
Rodduz: yes, usually there is a full zip up mesh and window option on the inside which contains dogs (and small children) While the waterproof main door pegs out to channel rain away.
The Oddeysse is a good price: check for mesh doors, they are a valuable feature.
ETA: I see it does have mesh doors, but a linked in groundsheet is not a sewn in groundsheet!
I would definitely recommend a zipped/sewn in groundsheet. Also maybe one that you can stand up in relatively comfortably. With a child and a dog I would try to go for a bigger tent 5 berth plus.
