Do these machines use 12 volts or 230 volts?

Not sure if there is a 12 volt version, as the only ones I have heard of are designed for the home. A friend had one. If there is no 12 volt version, I presume they could be run from an inverter provided the current consumption wasn't high. I have no idea how much current they draw.
Some models are capable of running off a 12v supply, just ask your provider. You may have to fund your own 12v adapter lead, as some people used to borrow one and not return it.

Basically if the unit needs 230 volts you'll need a mains supply, if it uses 12 volts you may be able to use a leisure battery but it depends on how much power the machine uses. It is also possible to obtain 230 power via an inverter and a battery but this is fairly inefficient and again depends on how much power you'll need but it'll probably flatten a battery in less than one nights sleep.
Lots of people with disabilities and those who need medical equipment whilst away from home manage to keep camping and caravanning somehow but without knowing exactly what your power requirements are it's difficult to offer more precise help. Is there a forum or organisation for people with sleep apnea where you might get more advice from people who have already solved this problem?
Can Run off of a Cigarette Lighter, as I had an adapter which I run off my car. Unfortunately, I lost mine, and I now have an inverter which I use off of the cigarette Lighter. I have looked into getting a "Recommended" Battery pack, but found them prohibitively expensive.
I have not bothered with the battery in the end, as I tend have EHU.

My friend and fellow UKCS member not only camps but hammocks with her CPAP. I’ll ask her to reply to you.
Haha, that's me! Hi Desy66 - I've been using CPAP for almost two years now and the first question I had was how am I going to go camping?!!
I don't know the technical ins and outs of batteries but if you hunt on the internet you'll find numerous discussions about this. There is a battery pack called the Atom Battery Power Pack which you can buy from the Hope2Sleep charity which they've selected as the best of those they tested. Not sure it would last more than a night or two without recharging.https://www.hope2sleep.co.uk There's also mention of the possibility of hiring battery packs in the future too. I believe some sleep clinics may also hire battery packs. Hope2Sleep also has a FB group which is very supportive.
Personally, I have invested in a lightweight, battery powered travel CPAP. There are one or two models out there. Mine is the Transcend which I bought from eu-pap.co.uk. Very pricey but I was desperate! It's light enough to take backpacking/wild camping if necessary and I've used it in a tent and even a hammock.
