Due to go camping again at Easter and no way can I sleep on one of those blow up mattresses again. What are the best self inflating ones? Budget is about 100 for a double and about 50 for 2 singles.
I couldn't quite work out your budget? And how are they to be used?
However many swear by Thermarest who make excellent sims; but Multimat also make a wide range of sims, similar to Thermarest but at better prices. They are quality, and I use 2, or a type that can be velcroid together to make a double or prevent movement.
Trail make budget sims, and they are very cheap but have proved durable...I also have a couple of these, but they are what they are....come to think of it, that's a stupid phrase, because as are most things!
The Multimats I have (the 50XXL) are for "base" camping with my partner and are warm (insulating) comfortable, strong and larger than some as I'm quite tall. But they have a range, and I'll include a link:
Thermarest are good but their 'lifetime guarantee' is now hedged by so many caveats as to be worthless.
At the budget end of things I bought a Vango Trek 5cm last year. It's heavier and doesn't pack as small as the Thermarest it replaced but it's thirty quid, and I'm not too concerned about weight/pack size for car-camping.
We find 5cm enough but obviously your mileage may vary.
Multimat will offer something good in that range....my 50XXLs with which I am very happy as is my partner, were a little more?
The Trails are £10 -£20...…...
I bought 5 Multimat Trekker 75s 7 years ago all still going strong. Not sure if available anymore. At 75mm think provides plenty of comfort. I would recommend at least that thickness but obviously adds to size but if car camping not so much of a concern.
Use a decathlon bed base if you want an even better bed setup.

Having a browse at some of these, what would be the minimum thickness to go for? Is 5cm enough for me at 14.5st and the wife at 9.5st I think lol.
We're fine on 5cm sims. I'm 15 stone and wouldn't dream of asking my wife what she weighs.
Depends very much on the mat, the foam used therein and the inflation valves. All mats are not the same. 5cm for a quality sim will or should be fine?
I'm 100kg and a side sleeper, that Multimat keeps my hip off the ground.
The thinner Trail needs to be rock hard, the other Trail I have is 10cms (therefore bulkier) doesn't need to be so hard. The cheaper trail sims need a lot of oral inflation.
The Multimat has two valves and self inflates fast and fully.
t is very personal what you like lying. What the one thinks is good, the other doesn't like at all. The only advice that really helps is to test yourself!

With the weight you specify, I cannot sleep on a 5 or 7.5 mat, personally I have to have at least 9 or more.
I bought the Vango Comfort 10cm grande and single to be used as a double (under a fitted double sheet). The sheet was very tight but to fold up a double and fit it in the car was very large.
I can't remember which sizes we have.... it might have been 2 lots of grande or a grande and a single. But a manufacturing problem meant one had to go back. So we need to get another one as neither Mr F nor I wish to sleep directly on the ground.
