Hi all,

A long shot I know but we have a nearly new Vango Icarus 600, Nearly new as in I bought it around 7 years ago in the summer but have only used it three times.

Anyway, the Vango Icarus 600 tent we loved using but it was a touch small and with one thing or another we just didn’t end up getting to go anywhere anyway so we are looking for an enclosed canopy for one and probably the footprint/carpet too (although the Eurohike carpet will fit I think) but oddly enough can’t find one anywhere ha ha

I’ve read that some of the other tents ones potentially fit Like the Iris for example but obviously they are old also and hence out of stock everywhere.

Would anybody happen to know of any goldmine “barn find” stores that I could look into or potentially know of anywhere getting rid of one?

It is seeming like we might have to bite the bullet and buy a whole new tent but it would be a shame given this one is pretty much new (it would make a good spare I suppose)

We bought the Icarus 500 poled version, the extension and a carpet. We used it for a weekend and here are my thoughts:

. Just big enough sleeping our family of medium-sized children.
. Living area too small for us to put table, chairs and boxes in.
. Needed extension for the table, chairs etc... but then what to put in the living area?
. So living area too small, but extension about the same size so if it was a house a tiny lounge and a tiny dining room, if knocked together would be a great size but too small for us by themselves.
. If we just piled up the chairs collapsed or half down there would be room.

It had a fault so it all went back. Shame as I quite liked it for a weekend tent and would be great for the back garden now!!

If you're not fussy on the colour there's more chance of finding one.

Is an Vango Iris similar? Might be a chance of finding a porch/extension for this one.

Found an Icarus 600 plus extension for sale in Scotland. You don't say where you are.

Hi, yes I think the Iris is similar, I thin there are a few that are similar but it seems to me that although they now sell the Icarus 600 DLX they no longer sell the extension even though they do for the 500 which is very annoying ha ha.

Thank you for the Gumtree link. I couldn't be much further away (in Plymouth) but have asked if they might split it as the tent is heavy and courier it down. A big ask but if you don't ask you don't get right?

Well in case anybody wants a tent in good condition with a sun canopy then there is a really good example in Scotland and it seems a good price. Had a nice chat with the owner but it isn’t the enclosed extension with a front door that we are after. Thanks for the lead though Frazzle!

We used to have the Icarus 600 and the Iris was the same tent, I believe that The Icarus became a Go Outdoors exclusive or something like that. Anyway the DLX was a 4 pole version of the same tent so basically a longer version

That would make sense, picture I have seen look the same to me. Very interesting about the DLX. I think I can still get a DLX tent, I wonder if the extension would also fit. That could make quite a large tent with a nice extension too
