Their advertised "Discount" prices don't need to be any cheaper than anywhere else, because if you find it cheaper elsewhere, GO will honour not only a price match, but also knock off a further 10%, thus always guaranteeing the item being cheaper than anywhere else... if you do your research first of course, as they won't voluntarily tell you it is advertised cheaper elsewhere!
Offer only open to card holder.
Has to be an identical product match of course... make/model/size/colour etc, but then if you are comparing prices, that's a given anyway!
One item a year, priced matched to £50 or more, and that's your fiver membership covered!
Works for some. A pain in the butt for others.
Also... maybe the fiver a year would more than cover time/fuel etc, if GO just so happen to be your nearest camping store, and thus reducing the travelling to other stores?
I’ve done this over the years over and over again... camping equipment, boots, jackets, kids stuff, camping furniture.... easily into the high hundreds saved

Cheers mate, forgot about the price match. Bought some roof bars from them just before going away. They were slightly different to the picture on their website, but still fine. Then I seem to remember seeing same ones on amazon. Go £59.99 amazon £39.99 so got on to customer service who I have to say were brilliant, and though I couldn't get back to the store until I returned from holiday ie: after the 7 day price promise guarantee, they said they would honour it. returned to Go yesterday and got a £24.25 refund so happy chappie here. I am trying to use them more nowadays as they are now my nearest outdoor gear store.
ps: If your wondering why I got £24.25 back, It's because when the till assistant checked the amazon price it had gone down a bit more.

Result!
I was under the impression they only Price Matched to bona fide shops/stores, and not the likes of EBay/Amazon/Online Marketplaces etc, so even better!
If I've read your post right, and you only went for the Price Promise after my timely reminder, I reckon the least you could do is go halves on what you saved. Call it a tenner you owe me, then everyone's happy!
