Woo hoo! Husband has just managed to book a site in slingsby North Yorkshire for the back end of July. It’s a compromise site - his choice of location (his parents had a static nearby for decades), my choice of canvas!
To say the children are excited is an understatement. Now just to do a trial run with all the new kit in the garden - and of course see if we can get it in the car.
It will be the husband’s and children’s first night under canvas NOT in the garden, and my first night not in the garden for about twenty years.
Toilet blocks and showers will be open; laundry and play area not. We hope.
Have a great time.....We're exited too as we go away just for 3 nights camping on July 9th. We missed our longer holiday in France back in May due to the situation. We have also booked another weekend in August and then a full week in Cornwall in Sept for my remaining weeks leave. Can't wait.
Have fun!
I now have 3 trips booked, 2x2 nighters and 1x 3 nighter. Would like a good long trip somewhere before the evenings get too short again! I am doing Kent, Sussex and Suffolk so far.
We are staying local to begin with. Lots of nice sites within 30 miles or so from home. We have booked a week from 6th of July which should have been the second week of our main holiday.
We've booked 10 nights in Wales starting the last week in July. Bit of a gamble but it was only a small deposit and so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! If that can't happen we'll be looking more locally in Shropshire and Herefordshire.
Not booking anything yet until I have a clearer idea when my van will be ready, in case Covid-19 causes further delay for the base van to be built by VW in Germany.
Enjoy!

It's a fairly small site and I am intrigued to see how the toilet block situation will work but we go in August so hopefully any teething problems will be resolved by then.
