Hi
We are taking our children on only thier 2nd camping trip this weekend and it's expected to be 28 degrees. I'm a bit concerned about the heat and finding shade as we are pitching in a farmers field so it's not a full facility site as such with places to escape the sun. The tent will be so hot we will need to be outside, just wondering what advice anyone has? We don't have room for a gazebo in the car, is there anything you can suggest? Thanks
I don't like the heat, so anything over 20 degC would be too hot for me.
I would rig a tarp to provide some shade outside my tent. They take up much less space compared to a gazebo.
Tarps are easy to put up and to take down if one uses the ridge line method.
I would not recommend leaving a tarp up unattended or overnight unless one can be certain of good weather with light winds.
Enjoy.

I have a canvas 2x4 tarp and have never had a problem with high winds.
In high winds I add extra guy ropes with Clingons to stop it lifting.
Rock pegs are a must.
