We were away last week and the couple opposite us were sat in their call almost all the time. We wondered what they were doing, then the next day they had someone there jump starting their car and we twigged they must have been sat on / charging their phones in accessory mode and flattened the battery!
Is this linked to the new staycation campers I wonder.
Several of the sites I have been on in recent years have had little or no mobile phone signal, as we tend to go for more out-of-the-way sites. That is just the way we like it as you don't get the problem of people yelling into mobiles. They have to go way off site to use them.
To be fair a lot of mobiles are home computers… we have our banking on them, our diaries on them, our work and home emails on them, our sat navs, our bookings for meals out and days out on them ….

There are quite a few people like that, but for oldies like me I would find the screen far too small if I had one. I manage perfectly fine without, but I do use my laptop a lot.
I have often wondered how people who use their mobiles for just about everything get on when there is no mobile signal on a site. I have been on several sites that have had WiFi but no mobile phone signal at all.
There are more than “quite a few”… it’s probably the majority nowadays .A lot of people use personal wifi boxes to get signals when site signals aren’t good.
