Now I have a few mins to spare. I own a RTT and have stayed in RTT in Europe and Morocco in all seasons. How high is your vehicle ? climbing in and out and then scrabbling around may not suit everyone. Need to check roof loading weight of your vehicle that it will take a tent and rack / bars this is dynamic weight not stationary. RTT are single skin and condensation is a nightmare. Wooden floored tents collect a bit less than plastic floored. We use yacht under mattress breathable material for extra comfort and breathability. A lot of RTT you may need to take your bedding out to put them away. Most RTT have quite thin matresses its ok if your in your 20's and skinny may not suit everyone. After 4/5 day trip it starts to get old climbing on the roof to put it away (unless your in a normal car). Lot of chinese tents around at the minute which are awful. BUy a well known or reputable brand. Mine is an ezee awn and is great for africa but not so great for autumn camping in UK. A fold out soft tent gives more room but needs to be folded out hard shell goes straight up so easier to put up or the may go up like vw camper roofs (think wedge shape sloping) on an angle so very small foot area. Some of the hard shell are crazy money. There are a lot of second hand around currently after people bought them during lockdown and now moving them on. Hope that helps any more questiosn feel free to ask .
