Hi all

We have a campingaz double burner and 907 cylinder bought second hand. The gas canister was half full when we acquired it. Only used for one trip so far so we still have quite a bit of gas left(at least I hope so) - but is there anywhere other than Go Outdoors where you can buy a refill? Our nearest store is threatening to close so that’s not helpful.

Any camping shop sells camping gaz, plus most campsites that supply gas too. in fact googling camping gas supplier nottinghamshire throws up a lot of replies to locate some, but thats not much use really as it will run out half way thr cooking your tea on a campsite we have no idea where that would be.

Can’t find any shops within many miles of me with 907 canisters in stock after googling. Thanks for your reply.

If you have 2 gas cylinders you can carry the spare full one around with you when you suspect the part used one won't make it through the camp. When it runs out you can swap them over.
If you have lots of gas cylinders you always take a full one away on long camps and use up the part filled ones on local weekend camps and in the garden. Gas lamps are ideal for burning off nearly empty gas cylinders.
If you only have one gas cylinder you have to change it before it runs out or you'll run out of gas half way through cooking a meal.

Never lose those pesky Campingaz screw top caps, they'll charge you £5 if you don't return with one.

My local hardware shop supplier sold up, and it took me ages to find anywhere else to buy a refill.

The Campingaz stockist locator is horribly out of date so phone before you go.

Cant suggest where to get one but just a tip for the future so as to know how much is left in a cylinder. Grab a hand held hanging scale, like a luggage scale, measure a full bottle and then again when its empty. This way you can weight the cylinder after you have used it and know how much you have used and also how much is left. In time your know how many days you have left in a cylinder before you go away and if you need to take a second cylinder or not.

Flogas sell Campingaz alongside their own branded cylinders, worth looking at their outlets or online ordering as well:

Campingaz is the most expensive refillable cylinder on the market, at around £18 per Kg, compared to well under £6 per Kg for a small Flogas butane cylinder! If you don't use much it probable doesn't matter too much, but if you use a lot, probable worth looking at a different cylinder! ONLY advantage of Campingaz is that you can obtain refills across Europe unlike all other brands which are specific to each country. If abroad, buy abroad, generally MUCH cheaper than UK!

We bought a couple of ‘empty’ cylinders, off here I think, so we always have a spare. We have exchanged them in France, but usually go to Winfields not too far away. OH does the weight calculation as above, he takes the used cylinders on weekenders and we set off to France with a full one.
