We sold our caravan a couple of years ago and in a mad moment came out of Go Outdoors last night with one of these. Any tips? We last tented 15 years ago so it was all poles and rows (hence the conversion to the caravan) so I'm hoping you're all going to tell me that this is a great tent that goes up in minuteds and wont cause a divorce..... Please tell all!
Google YouTube Berghaus Nightfall400. Plenty of videos & reviews. I think there’s even one about how to pack it away wet.
It’s always a good idea to put it up in the back garden or your nearest park before you head off. On the other hand, it’s very entertaining for the rest of us on site to watch that first ever pitching.
Haha this is what I am worried about. With our first tent we had a big practice run in the back garden but this time, husband (other than checking everything was in the bag) hasn't done anything with it. He is expecting it to go up like a bouncy castle. The embarrassment may be immense!! I may just sit in the car with a bottle of wine and a straw!
For anyone interested, we watched the You Tube videos and it went up really easily! I was amazed. Also, deflating and packing away was fine too. I watched a bloke on site with the same tent doing it all on his own which gave me confidence but it was really easy to pack away and did go back in the bag first time.
I have the Air 4 which was the model before the 400. Very good tent and easy to put up/take down. I've modded the doors slightly with additional velcro but other than that I'm happy with it. I nearly got a 400 a few months ago but my local Go Outdoors had a "Store is CLOSING, HUGE discounts" thing on where they increased the price by £100!
