HI CAMPERS

Did anyone have problems with the fibregalss poles when errecting, we heard a loud snapping sound, but the tent went up alright weather very very windy. One of the arches looked distorted compared to the others. When taking down the tent one section of the fibre glass poles felt rough, but hadnt snapped completely (if that makes any sense) a spare section of pole came with the tent, how on earth do you change it because of the elastic that runs through the centre of the poles. or should we contact the shop where we bought it as all the other poles are fine.

You can re-thread the poles (adding the new pole) by purchasing a 'pole repair kit' (around £5), basically it's a long metal needle and a long piece of 'shock cord' elastic which is used to re-thread the poles.

Personally I'd take it back and demand new poles or at least let them sort it out.

Pete.

Hi Bergin,

i'm thinking of buying an Outwell sun valley Tent as the large zip offable front porch area looks pretty good for cooking etc. What do you think about it? Would you recommend it? The snapping poles issue is a bot worrying though
