Hey all.

We are going camping at the end of Sept with our 7month old baby.
Bit worried about the temp dropping at night and starting to look into some heaters.
We have a 6 man tent. I was looking at a kampa Diddy heater but I've heard mixed reviews.
Any recommendations of a small heater we can leave in the bedroom over night, fan or oil.
Got to becpretty small though as we are running out of space in the car now days.

Thanks in advance

Years ago we bought a small oil filled radiator from Argos. Back then we only paid something like £20 for it.we bought it for out daughter who was 8 months old on her first trip.
It has a thermo cut out on it and it will cut in and out depending on what temperature it is set at.
We use it in the evenings to warm up the bedrooms and if it's a bit chilly we leave it on all nite.
fan heaters are ok for instant heat but not great to leave on all nite. Always wake up with a dry mouth if the fan heaters is left on all nite so we don't tent to use it now just the oil radiator.

My preference would be a fan heater no more than 2kW maximum as it would help to heat up a tent quicker than an oil heater.

However, with a moving mechanical fan, it can be too noisy for some.

Look for features such as thermostatic control, dual heat output, anti-trip, overheat safety cut out, fan-only option (for summer use) etc..

I did not find a fan heater being noisy as I was used to the humming noise coming out of my thermo-electric coolbox.

I used it in the inner tent overnight set at about 18degC without any issues.

I have never used an oil heater so I can't comment about them.

We have a low wattage, two tube, halogen heater with a cut out if knocked over. Heats up our Dutch pyramid and is only 800 watts.
