We bought in March 2006, from Camperland. This happened in August (Bank Holiday). We didn't do anything about it because we know that it was our blooming fault!

I will get in touch with Vango. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi All

Jumant's other half here.

We settled on the Aspen 500 and can honestly say that it's the best decision we ever made. The quality is outstanding and although a little difficult to put up is well worth the effort once it's up.

We actually saw the 700 and the 500 side by side at the dealership and felt that the 500 was big enough. Unless you've got a huge family you don't need the 700.

We didn't get the DLX because we felt that we didn't need the porch bit but in hindsight I wish we had. The small porch on the normal 500 is great with the door open but when it's all closed up it may as well not be there.

The only quality issue we've had is with the footprint being a little oversized. We've never used it under the tent.

We've had it up in storms and it's VERY rigid, warm and waterproof.

Whichever tent you buy it will get quicker and easier each time you put it up. We've got the Aspen 500 down to a fine art now but struggled a bit the first time.

Glad we persevered. It's fabulous.

hi twynholmblack

damaged sig on my aspen on its maiden outing .you can get repair kits for them, I used a motorcycle repair patch at the time which worked a treat .have since invested in a footprint groundsheet which fits exactly under the inner tent to prevent any further damage only cost about £25 for piece of mind

HI GUNNAR WELL MAY I SAY I HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK THAN WE HAD WITH OUR SUN VALLEY 8, WE HAD TO TAKE OURS BACK TWICE FIRST DUE TO LEAKING SEAMS AND THE SECOND DUE TO SIG TO TIGHT AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE OUTWELL THREADS YOU WILL SEE THE HUMONGOUS FAULTY OUTWELL TENTS THAT WERE RETURNED DURING 2005 FOR THE ABOVE FAULTS I HAVE MENTIONED SO I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU ERECT IT AND MAKE SURE THE SIG SITS FLAT ON THE FLOOR AND KEEP IT UP IN THE RAIN TO CHECK FOR LEAKS, WE HAVE CHANGED IT TO THE VANGO ASPEN 700DLX AND ALTHOUGH ITS PITCH INNER FIRST I AM MORE THAN HAPPY WITH IT. ANYWAY HOPE YOU HAVE GOT A GOOD TENT AND THE QUALITY CONTROL HAS IMPROVED AT OUTWELL.

Hi Paulsere,

Gunnars OH here. We have been very happy with our 2005 Sun Valley 8. We have had no problems and wouldn't change it. We did read all the posts last year with interest. It was such a shame as the SV8 is a great tent. We now have one friend who has bought one and another two who are interested. I think we should be on commission !

hi jason jenkinson

We will try to repair it before we go off on the first BH in May. We do have a groundsheet that we cut to size ourselves and we use this under our much loved tent

I my Aspen!
