Hi All,

Great site, and have found out much info'....(Thanks!)

Straight to the point!....

Should I buy the Vango Colarado 600DLX or the Vango TBS Vista 600DLX?

I'm after a 3 roomed family tent for me, the wife + 2 Kids (2/4 yrs) that will be capable of taking our British weather and be pleasant enough for the evenings we will spend around/in it after the kids have flaked out....

I can't find any comparisons between these 2 but the Vista retails at £100 more...

From what I've read the dome in the Colarado gives stability, the TBS in the Vista gives stability, all the poles/sheets etc., seem the same spec' so am I missing something about the Colarado design (dome/tunnel) that makes it worse than the Vista?

Of course if anyone has any other strong views on either of these or a similar tent I would be very happy to hear from them

Cheers,

Arctic Dog

I can only agree with Steve we bought the Colorado for a family of four, children of 2 and 4 years and it works fine for us.

I`ve got a Colorado 1200 DLX and the spec is excellent. It`s stood up to some pretty rough weather. I also have a Vango TSB Oregon 600 that is the baby brother of the Vista 600...a little bit smaller though, and cheaper at £150 or so. So though I can`t make a direct comparison between your two tents, I still have some indirect opinions on them and two thoughts...

1) Footprint of the Vista is 6.10m x 3.25m, with a living area of 2.50m x 3.20m. . Colorado 600dlx  is 5.80m x 6.10m, with a living area of 2.60m x 4.70m. The Vista is going to fit into a lot more pitches than the Colorado, but has less living space. Or does it? In my Colorado the doorway slopes in, cutting at least two feet (60cm) off the living space. All the Vista living space is usable. I`ve seen the Vista 600  up, btw...a friend of mine has one and they have three daughters, thus five of them altogether. Very spacious tent for the footprint.

2) The Vista has four poles...and will go up in half the time of the Colorado, I bet. Our bigger Colorado takes an hour to put up compared to the Oregon going up in twenty minutes.

Okay, three thoughts...have you seen the 2005 Vista? It has a porch, very useful wee thing that holds the doorway clear of the living area.....and you can get it for £199.95 here. But be quick, only to the end of the month.
