Hi all this is my first post, just wanting a bit of information on the Vango oakland 800. I know it's an 8 person tent but what style is it. Any details on dimensions? Is it any good, does it have bad points.

right from what I can find its about 6 years old ? I wouldnt want a modern tent that was that old tbh ,seen as the shelf life of a tent is so short ? maybe someone else will know better ? maybe this tnet was made from a different material or something ?
thanks, looked on google the only i could fiind was an old reference to one sold on the German Ebay but link just went to their camping section so no picture there.
Skatty, you say that a tent has a short shelf life, what do you mean by that. I thought that if you looked after it, aired it after use it would last for ages. Is it different for larger tents or just depends on the material?

It's a tunnel tent roughly 6 to 7m long 2.5m wide not quite 2m high, 4 person bedroom either end with good headroom, large living area. Not very aerodynamic, same height along its length then nearly vertical at the ends. We had one on our first camping trip which lasted 3 hours (a windy night in the Lakes) snapped all the poles, maybe mainly due to our inexperience.
With more careful site selection its been OK and for 2 adults and 2 kids the size is great
Oh thanks for that That's the tent I've got, Got it of a neighbour it's only been used twice once by the neighbour and once by me in Spetember and it faired well then.
Taking the mrs and boy out with it in may so hopefully it'll be ok.
