Bought a Skandika Stolkholm tent earlier in the year and have taken it out a couple of times. Was sold as an 8 man tent with three bedroom 'pods', 2 for 3 people each and 1 for 2 people. However in practice they are only big enough to sleep 1 person in each as the inner tent hangs so far down that it would be in your face!! Dont think we are putting it up incorrectly. Just wondered if anyone else has had an experience with this tent and has found the same thing?

It's probably just poorly designed. When all said and done, Sweden isn't exactly the camping capital of Europe now, is it?

Er, heard of Hilleberg? try www.hilleberg.se (se means Sweden). If it works in scandinavia it will work in UK!

Sue

The website for skandika is www.skandika.de (germany not sweden, although they are made in sweden apparently). Did you get it off outdoor shop on ebay?

I bought a Vaude off them and found them very helpful except I don't speak a word of german.

The stockholm is not a clever design for trying to get 3 in, I have found similar with a vis a vis I've got. If the bedroom pole is a far back as possible, try hanging the bedroom first then stake it to get as much tension as possible on the sloping side. Then peg the front groundsheet of the bedroom without pulling the bedroom roof forwards or downwards. If it won't go don't peg it or very lightly peg it.

If stll no joy you could run a string from the far peg up to the hooks and clip the inner on with plastic clips to try to raise the inner. You could shorten the inner hangers to add more tension.

With 3 in a row tho if the first in wants to get up first they'll be crawling all over the other two.

I don't think you'll ever be able to use it with an airbed.

Who are you trying to kid Winhill. If the Swedes knew anything about camping, you could guarantee that Jonny Ikea would be right in there with a triple glazed dome tent with under-floor heating, flat packed with an Allen key and two spare bolts to fool you into thinking you had missed something critical.
Take my advice. Don't get a tent called Stockholm, but by all means get a Volvo to not put it in.

There are lot of thread on these 'ebay only tents' im afraid !

My tip for what its worth ,never buy a tent that is only sold on ebay ,only buy tents from reccomendation of either the brand or the actual tent ,and only take reccomendations from people who actually have experience of the tent and have used it !

Sorry Mark but Winhill is right Hilleberg is on of the best tents you can get, not for lowland camping in summer on a nice campsite but for on top of a mountain in a blizzard when your Outwell and Sunncamps would'nt last two minutes.

I know Fergie. I took my Diablo on a trek once. Not only was it almost impossible to squeeze into my rucksack, but it took us ages to find a suitably flat pitch up the Cairngorms.
Can you get Hillebergs for 9 people?

No no Hillebergs for 9...you have to buy 2 x Nallo GT 4 and 1 Nallo Gt 2 for a cost of around £1000!!

Or a 3 metre dome for £3500!

LOL!
