Hope this isn't a stupid question but how do I know whether I'm buying a new 2006 tent or an old 2005 tent? Or doesn't it matter? Just that I'm buying my first tent, have pretty well decided which one and it occurs to me at this time of the year, it could be either. Thanks, Ian

Well you could look up the make and model on the net..

I have just bought a replacement Vango Gamma 350 and it different to my present one, only reason iv bought a new one is cos inner tent floor is nackerd..  The new one has windows in porth that old one didnt..  And i think its slightely different size though im not sure if its bigger or smaller.. lol..

But basicaly it doesnt really matter wether its last year or this as long as its a good tent..  My dad bought a good tent beginning of last year, i think, infact it might have been year before i really cant remmeber,  which they discontinued but i really dont know why because its an excellent tent, dont know the name of it but its fairly easy to put up,  sturdy as hell and totaly waterproof.. i think its quality and if dad stops going camping then i might see if i can nab it off him..

You should just focus on design and wether tent is right tent for you and not worry bout if its last year or this...  ..I bought two new tents last year one was the Cadiz 4+1 if i rem corretly and it was rubbish, tried to put it up.. snapped a pole and threw it in bin..  Possibly more suited for sites with no wind. but my main place for camping is Shell Island in North Wales..  The Cadiz 4+1 (or 5+1) was newer than my old gamma 350 but nowhere near as sturdy!

Geese iv gona on abit.. well hope its been of some help anyway..

Rob

If you buy it now and its in the sale usually they are last years, but you will be getting a bargin. This years season hasn`t started yet but make but the only advice i can give you , is to make sure your tent has enough living space for rainy days plus all your kitchen equipment.

 Hope this helps Ian

Thanks for replies and much appreciated. I'm about to buy my first tent and don't want to trip up right at the start( if I can help it!). As it happens my short list of two smallish Vango tents don't appear to be altering to any extent so I'm tempted to buy now.Just didn't want to find the 2006 model at same price a couple of weeks later. Ian
