Hello there. I'm looking for a new tent. Have been a tunnel user for a few years and like them (they're simple like me). Saw a Royal Avingon 6 today in a camping shop. Does anyone have any thoughts on this model - durability and stuff? It was selling for £245.00

We've looked at the Royal Avignon & like the design - & it looks to be as sturdy as the similar Gelert Lokon Vario range. One of them (not sure if the Royal, the Gelert or indeed the other versions the Sunncamp/Easycamp (?) or the Marechal version - all basically same design) - one of them has a clear plastic rooflight panel in the ceiling to let in light. Nice idea but personally I'd prefer no such panel in the ceiling as any additional unnecessary seam is a potential leak, particularly if water were to pool at that point (if it's not quite pitched perfectly or on uneven ground it can do easily on many tents).

Would be nice with a second front panel so if you want you can have a completely enclosed porch area separate from your living area. Nice if it's rough outside - you shut one before opening the other so you don't lose the cosy "fug" you've built up inside your living area. Towsure used to do a version of their own (Oggi Sahara?) and they supplied the second front panel as standard.

Hi think I should speak up for the  Avingon we have one and its excellent we paid £250 for are's. But you have to see one in he flesh (so to speak) to see how great it is, to us the 3 bedroom pods are a big plus in lots of similar tunnels there is only 2 pods . plus you get a great removable canopy. great door no need to bend to enter evan a 6ft er moveable front pannel. all in all a brill tent   Lisa
