I agree with Val - it also has the advantage that you can sit and relax without being pestered by a cross child who you have put to bed, when all the other children are still out playing. I just keep checking on them. Once or twice mine have fallen asleep fully clothed - shower and fresh clothes in the morning and everything is just fine. Put it this way one evening last year, the kids were down in the play area, I went to check on them Alice was happily playing, no sign of Pip. We did a quick check, around, and before we launched a full scale search, Richard glanced in the bedroom - the was fast asleep. I wouldn't allow them to run riot, but there is a big difference between playing and running riot, disturning other campers.
