The end of last year we discovered the joys of camping and we were able to get away only 3 times before the season came to a close.We are hoping to get away for the first time this season at easter and i was wondering from any die hards out there if many people tent at this time of year.The reason i wondered is because i expect it will still be quiete chilly in april although we have brought 2 very small coleman heaters one of which we had last season and was invaluable.(money well spent) I have to say that i wish i had discovered camping years ago there was just something very specail about being outside and cooking breakfast by the entrance of the tent all very primitive but great fun. Happy camping.

A lot of people camp at Easter - we normally do, even when Easter is early. This year though, for the first time since we started camping we have other plans.

It can be cold, but as long as you are prepared for this with adequate clothes and bedding it's no problem (we've never bothered with a heater).

Thanks Liz that sounds promising i suppose at least easter is april this year has been march in the past.Whatever your doing at easter have a lovely time.Lets up its fairly warm :)

Hi thanks for the reply what happened to the tent looks pretty sorry for itself:( We cant wait to get back out there again as we had such a great time last year.As you pointed out i guessed it would be cold ugh!!!!!!!! i,m a bit of a wimp.But i,m not going to let it put me off.I have been to Whitby many times but not camping it is one of my most favorite parts of the country but when its cold its cold.Im hoping it will be a little more calm where we will be in Norfolk plus the camp is very inland and off the road.Fingers xd.Hope you have a good time easter if you go away i think everyone deserves a break and what a nicer way to have one.

Thanks for the reply you are the second person who has mentioned about using a blanket under the airbed therefore i would be a fool not to do it it sounds like good advice cos there is nothing worse than being cold.And for me that would ruin the whole thing dreading being in the tent at night because of it.So i will have to go into my linen cupboard and dig deep in this day of duvets but will be well worth it.Thankyou for your kind wishes have a good season too yourself.

My Wife, 8 year old daughter and I went camping at Easter last year, and it was March last year.
We found that the days were ok, but we were going to bed at about 8.30pm so that we were wrapped up in our sleeping bags before the cold came in.
I woke up at 5.30am to the horses tearing open a neighbours rubbish and went to answer a call of nature. On the way back to the tent, I noticed that all the cars were covered in frost, man we must be tough!

Hi everyone who has taken the time to email me it has been very helpful thanks..In reply to Angelsale i have only been camping a short while myself but i find that the fisherie camp sites are the best for the true camping expereince.They are ussually in a wooded area and obviously alongside a lake.A lovely relaxed setting for a barbie and a camp fire of an evening although we respect the area we ussually build our camp fires in the barbeque tray to save burning the grass and upsetting the owner of the site.
