I think the 2006 poles have gone back to the original colours - it was just the modified 2005 poles that changed.
As long as you have a 2006 Monty (and lets face it there were no 2005 ones left) then you will be OK.
Enjoy your tent - I have both Monty 4 and 12 waiting for the weather to pick up so I can pitch them for the first time. I can't wait.
Whilst I've not used mine yet, but I bought the front canopy for the 4 and the side canopy for the 12 to use for cooking and sitting out. I expect to use a bedroom for storage on the 12, and a corner in the 4 as this is just a father & sons bonding tent - no girls or tidiness allowed. I think the canopies will be worth their weight having used the porch on my Vango Diablo 900 as a kitchen last year.
As for ground sheet I am undecided. I may pick up the B&Q tarpaulins which are good sizes, and I had also considered lining the inside with Eco Mat this year (but it's mighty expensive). I'll play this one by ear later in the season.
