Used this place for over 25 years - sad to see when spending a day in Oxford that it's shuting down - both branches. Popped into see if there were any 'bargains' - (vulture mode) nothing aparent but the q's for the checkout were Huuuuuuuuuuuge on Saturday.

Bought my first tent from them - daresay the internet has dropped the Axe?

Yes very sad. I was unfortunate to live too far away to visit Touchwood Sports, but I only heard good things about it. Does anyone know what happened to Insport, in Northenden?

Touchwoods will be reopening in about 5 weeks as Go-outdoors and all jobs are safe.

Have just seen that news on Go outdoors website, also new store opening in Cheadle, Manchester ,soon. Yippee!! Usually have to travel to Sheffield but this is great news (or bad, will spend to much money!!) Hubby works in Cheadle Hulme! Hubby even fancies a job in tent department, he could sit in a tent all day!! and get paid for it.

Ooh cant' wait!

Sad that Touchwoods is going bt glad that it is being replaced by something similar. When we bought our tent we went over to tochwoods to have a look at the Hartwells up and running.

Shame to hear about Touchwood sports, we often popped in there when passing through Oxford, we bought our Vango Equinox from there.

Glad to hear that there will still be a camping shop there.
