You can go to a camping shop and buy a reputable make for not much more than that. You will know that what you are buying is safe and acceptable on all sites. Thats got to be worth the Tenner or so extra.

Just an update...I have decided to make my own with 2.5mm^2 Arctic Grade Cable & 2 of these. I looked at this type but didnt like the idea of leaving the flaps open once the plugs were in. This way they are sealed from pretty much anything short of completely immersing the unit in water. They arrived this morning and are excellent, with a flap that little fingers will find very difficult to open and meddle with. Reckon the total cost with cable to be about £70.00. Well worth the extra for the peace of mind if you ask me...

Please be prepared to get turned away from campsites that will not let you hook up with your DIY effort.

Our Sunncamp EHU was inspected twice last year. One here and once in France. I think this is going to start happening more and more as EHU becomes more popular with tenters.

Thanks dukedog. I'd rather rely on my engineering degree and years of experience to spot something that could potentially put the lives of my family at risk. Just because Towsure sell it doesnt mean its the safest or the best. And if I do get turned away then from a campsite, perhaps thats indicative of a campsite owner / steward who knows little or nothing about its electrical system and the equipment thats used on it.

I'm just off to jump in the river...cos it said to do so in the Towsure book...
