This has probably been explained loads of times already, but if Delta pegs are so very very hard to shift, how do you get them out of the ground when its time to take the tent down?
I have been wondering about buying some but am slightly worried about not being able to extract them from a pitch! MT

They pull out easier than normal pegs due to the straight edge on them that you can grip, you dont need an extractor for them, the reason they stay in the ground is due to the shape of them, the more they are pulled from the guy rope the more they go into the ground, maybe Rob can explain it easier for you lol.
they shift the point of the force of the wind and literaly anchor themselves in. because the force of the guy pulls sideways against the anchor they just don't move but when you pull them out you pull up not across so they come out easily.
It's an example of brilliant simple design and even prompted me to test them against my car on wet grass - the car lost against just 3!!
As has been said they are removed very easily, take a look at the bottom picture Chris posted, you can see from that the direction the peg went in, just pull out in the same direction being able to grab the top section is a bonus for those with arthritic fingers as well, a truly marevelous design, simplicity at its best!
tension on the peg creates a tiny space at the back of the spike. This means that the peg itself is sitting in a slot or hole slightly bigger than itself. You will find a little bit of drag on removal. You can still use extractors to save you bending too far. The pegs lay totally level with the ground when in use but is easy to push an extractor under the lip.
