Why is a rubber roof a good thing? I was worried it might increase condensation and I think I read another post wher someone suggested it might be more likely to rot -presumably due to damp?

It's not actually rubber, it's PVC coated. You will find out why it's a good thing when you come to reproof your tent in a few years - if it's  PVC you don't have to try to reach the middle of the roof with the Fabsil cos the PVC doesn't need reproofing

Our Cabanon has a PVC roof, and we've had no problems with condensation. Our tent is around 7-8 years old & the PVC roof and mud walls are not showning any signs of rot.

It's easier to clean the bird poo off the roof too

Can confirm Catterick Caravan and Camping centre has some tents on display, but mainly the new Coleman range and Khyams...I was there yesterday they had some frame tents but not many (maybe only one in fact).  I live in Catterick so I can go and check if you want...

Think I'll try ringing JR Camping first as I think they are a lot nearer to us and I guess I could contact Don Valley again, they said they hoped to put up their display during April but didn't sayt whether it would contain an espace ot not. Catterick looks like it would be a long way from here.

In reply to Chantal. Looked at the Sunncamp Grange on the website, it does look nice, it's a pity they don't do a four bedroomed one.

Hey Chantal we have the grange as well although there are only 2 of us we were thinking about the future when we bought it if we have kids.  We love it and it's massive with the kitchen extension and spare wardrobe toilet area if you want to use it for that. We put our electric cooler box in the wardrobe next to the kitchen area which works really well and use one inner tent for storage one for sleeping in and sometime don't bother putting the third one up. We do have some pics in our gallery image if anyone wants to look at the tent

when we first started camping we wanted a frame tent..something that would last 10 years - seems reasonable?
anyway at norwich camping they had a kos6 and an identical cabanon side by side. OK so withe the cabanon you supposedly get a supior quality tent, but for more than double the price.
we've used the kos6 for 6 years now, only just replacing it with a TT. I was thinking about getting a mykonas8 but the tt purchase beat me to it.

we always said that if the kos lasts 10 years we would be more than happy....and it would have done so and we cuold always pitch and set everything out in under a couple of hours.

yes go get an easycamp tent!

Our current frame tent was bought by my parents in the early 1970s. It was made by Jekyls the sail makers I think. It hasn't been used the whole time, probably about 7 years by them, a couple by me when I was an older teenager and now about 9 by our family. I've sewn a new zip in it but until recently it has looked like new (still has the 1970s tassles!) Unfortunately now the fabric is getting a bit delicate and we have managed to make a few holes in it which so far we have patched up. But the delicate state of it plus the fact we could do with a bit more room means we are now looking for a new one.

Rang JR Camping in Lambley, they don't do the epsace.

Emailed Cabanon who told me to try Don Valley.

Have emailed Don Valley again. Previously they said their display was going up in April. This time have asked them to say whether they will have an espace on show.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the country where there is a current model on display? May be able to combine a viewing with visiting friends or work trip.

this is where we got our easycamp kos6 from:
http://www.norwich-camping.co.uk/product/321/3_160.html

they do cabanon too, but it's along way to go, unless you combine with a trip to the coast. they should have a kos6 up for some sort of comparison
