Put my Vango Vail 700 up in the garden for a practise run with help from my little 11 year old.
Was pretty hard work, didn't find the instructions great and I have to admit that it took 2.5 hours, including inners and ground sheet - cream crackered now
If you do buy one, then it helps to know that the ground sheet extends under the inner tents, as the instructions tell you to put the inners up first, meaning I had to crawl underneath them to fit the ground properley so I won't make that mistake again!
anyway, now I know how it all fits together and with the help of my husband I reckon things will go much better next time.
Unfortunately we had one porch pole missing and an extra upright instead, but Leisure trail will swap it for me, so that is fine. The benefit of buying from a shop and not online I guess.
We had lunch out there today and I am going to bite the bullet and sleep in it tonight with my son as he worked so hard this morning. Hopefully it won't drop below freezing!!!
seems like a great tent though, masses of space and really bright and airy, hoping to go away for the first week of the easter hols, so let's hope the weather sorts itself out!
bye for now

Hi
We are looking to buy this tent but would like to either see it at a shop or at least see better photos of it. Do you have any piccies yet that you could email to us? Also, how much room is there in the living area - the web photos make it look quite small.
Elisa
Hi ya, yes actually I did take some pics of it, let me know your email addy and I will send them (need to get them off the camera first!)
There is masses of room in the living area and because of the design it is really tall all the way across, my husband is over 6 feet tall, so this was a consideration for us. It has masses of natural light too, with 4 windows and 2 rooflights, plus you have the canopy on the front aswell
we need enough room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and when we stood in it together it still felt spacious!!
Try Leisuretrail in Southampton www.leisuretrail.co.uk, I got it for £359 which was the cheapest I could find, it will probably cost masses to send mind you as it weighs an absolute ton!

Hi Tracy
Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you on this - my computer has thrown a wobbler! I have to use my work computer for a little while.
Back to the tent, I would be really grateful for any piccies, if it's not too much trouble
My email is ejf at boys.bolton.sch.uk
Kind regards
Elisa

Hi all
Have just come back from our first trip in the Vango Vail 700 and it did us proud. i will email pics in the next couple of days as I now have all the washing to do - oh joy!!
with regards to the amount of people i can accomodate - we took 4 kids aged 15, 13,12 and 10 plus two adults and there was masses of rooms, we had the kitchen all set up on a 5ft long table, a seperate eating table and 6 of the concertina style chairs and sleeping was no problem either, 2 large kids in each end room with space for 2 single air matresses and all their bags etc. We had the larger middle room with a double airmatress and space on all sides.
We did put it up in nasty wind, which was slightly stressful, won't do that again, but we were keen to get it up! slightly disappointed as one of the carbonfibre poles which supports the window shades split, but it didn't affect the tent at all, we didn't notice until we took it down - i am getting a replacement from Leisuretrail tomorrow from their Demo tent, however slightly concerned to hear it would take 6 weeks if they had to order it from Vango .
All in all I would give it 10 out of 10 (even with the damaged pole) as it was well tested in wind, rain, heat and cold!!!
