hi

fabsil has been around a long time and is the best on the market if reproofing make sure you clean the tent first with tent clean or pure lux flakes a non detergent  then reproof if the tent is new NO NOT reproof as this will strip excisting waterproof off and new tents are already treated

you only reproof if tent has been weathered and is leaking generaly when a few years old  but always check seams first as if leak is coming from there use seam sealant

Hi Jude. How old is the tent? Have you just bought it second hand?

We bought our frame tent second hand 18 months ago. When we viewed the tent it was erected in a very small garden, so we could only see one side of it (plus the inside), so on the first fine day we put it up in our garden to inspect it fully - it was really mucky. So last spring I set it up again and washed it thoroughly with Grainers Tent Clean, then, when it was fully dried I used the brush on Fabsil (which works out a bit cheaper than the spray on Fabsil if it's a large tent).

The tent looked super last summer and not a drop of rain came through, although we had a thunder storm for a couple of hours one night.

yeh, we used fabsil on our frame tent. we got the brush on stuff, as i think if you use the spray variety most of it disappears into the atmosphere and doesn't hit the target.
£70 of fabsil and we then go and buy a TT - ouch

Your tent has come from a more caring home than ours did Jude. It's a good idea to give it a coat of Fabsil if you don't know how long it's been since it was last waterproofed. It doesn't take very long to brush it on, so go for it
