Hello, Dunstable resident here. 

You have PJ Camping, just outside St Albans.

Complete Outdoors, between Hemel and Berkhamsted in Bourne End.

Tony Wild, in the Grounds of Woburn Abbey.

Bucks Camping,  Mursley, South West of Milton Keynes.

I've been to all except Tony Wild, and they are recommended by a nice lady at work who bought her tent there.

Complete Outdoors have 2 premises, and the one I referred to just outside Hemel does put tents up at weekends on display, last year I lokked inside a Hartford, and an Outwell Colorado 8. I would say those are family tents.

I would also think that if they stock a particular tent that you would like to see up, a quick phonecall before the weekend would be enough to make sure they get a display model out.  

we bought our first tent from tony wildes very helpful and had a good range on display I would phone first to see if the display tents are up as his is an out door displat area also there was a camping and caravaning retailer at Billing Aquadrome northants with an out door display

If you dont get sorted i hope you will come and visit my new shop. Cross Camping and Leisure ltd. Im a new retailer and need all the custom i can get. Sounds like i will be your local dealer also. My display will compete with the best and i have a huge accessory department. My prices should be great also as ive invested a huge amount of money so i could get the best prices from the suppliers. Im on Phillimore garden centre, Melbourn, Nr Royston, herts sg8 6ey. Im opening on april the 1st. Im working long days sorting the shop so if you want to ring please do on 01763 262555.

If you can wait until 22nd April there is a display of over 200 tents at Codicote near Welwyn. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/events - 22nd April til 14th May

I can also recomend Tony Wild at Woburn.

Many Thanks for the suggestions. Will let you know how we get on as we intend to tent hunt tomorrow.

Gary we would have loved to visit your shop and still might, but hoping to get something soonest, so we can go at Easter.  We will need the practice putting it up.
