We have received some compensation from our holiday company for a shocking holiday in Turkey last year and instead of saving it like good peope we think we are going to splash out on a new tent!!!!!

We have been to see some (in the rain) and we are taken with the Wynnster tents.

We currtnly have a Coleman Bispace 500. We are looking at the Wynnster Pegasus 5or 6 or the Hawk 8.

The hawk has sewn in ground sheet and looks drier but does not have the windows etc that the Pegasus has.

Any experience with these tents/ pitching/recommendations/ pro's/ cons etc would be very welcomed as we are going to a tent show next week and may end up getting one!

Thanks

Bramley

Have you looked at the Wynnster Orion?

More of a swap for the Pegasus if you want SIG, but has slightly lower head height in the bedrooms.

Hi

We have a Wynnster venue 5, which weve had for 3 years, which is the same layout as the Pegasus, its been a great tent, plenty of room in the living area, mesh front door and the two side door are very handy, it goes up really quick and weve used it in some really bad weather and not had any problems with it not having a SIG, have seen the new Pegasus and its on my wish list with the extra mesh doors and the canopy over the front.

How many of you are usuing the tent, me and husband use it and also my son has come with us, the bedroom is big enough for 3 with the air beds and bags and stuff but if theres more than that I would go for the 6, must say last year at the Leeds festival we ended up with 4 people sleeping in the living room bit as well as all our table and chairs and stuff as they had to abandon there tents.

We have a been camping a while now and have a range of tents but this tent has been really great and very versatile big enough for 2 weeks but easy and quick enough to put up for a weekend as well.

Hope this helps

Hi Fiona

Thanks for the above- most useful- at least we know we are not looking at a dodgy tent!!!!!

To be honest there is only the two of us, but we love to have enough space to be able to sit indoors round the table and play cards etc wit a few beers if it rains.

I love the porch canopy thing over the front. We saw it in the rain yesterday and you would stay dry as a bone.

Hi Bramley & Tash

Id go for the 5 then if theres just the two of you there will be plenty of room, me and my husband are like you, we like plenty of room so your not falling over stuff if the weathers bad, in our venue 5 theres one big bedroom with a divider that we only use if our son comes with us, its really nice haveing plenty of room in there but when I was looking at the Pegusus  on line, it looked like they where separate bedrooms, is this right?  its not a problem if it is, but I do like the one large bedroom.

Good luck with what ever you choose.

HI

the Wynnster Website says that it has two bedrooms. It also says that this years Venture 5 has 2 bedrooms, not sure if that means one with a divider or two seperate rooms.

We are going to look at them on Sunday so will be able to see then and hopefully get one.

Getting excited now!!!!!

I own a Wynnster Mercury 9 and have had many lookers and admirers on camp sites all over the UK. I have been considering buying another tent so when we go away for shorter breaks without the kids it will take up less space in the car. I first saw the new Wynnster Pegasus at Leisure Trail near Southampton a couple of weeks ago and fell for it big time seems to tick all the right boxes for us., overheard another looker saying it had fab write up in one of the camping mags earlier this year. Just waiting unitl payday to go and buy it!

Seen the Pegasus this weekend & it's a cracking tent, yes the bedrooms are seperate. Huge living area & canopy looks great.

Purchased Pegasus 5 six weeks ago as a weekend alterantive to our 10-birth Wildcountry.  I highly rate it - really good living area - plenty of light, windows, mesh etc.  Easy to pitch and it always seems to go up without to much hassle - pretty intutative.  Note earlier comments on attention form others - I think it looks a bit camp but then does that really matter.  We have used it 6 times in 6 weeks so it cant be bad.
