hi whats the best one man tent u can get ,but on the cheaper side,i dont want to spend loads ,i want to keep the price to a min: ???

sorry, can only comment on a 2 person tent, the vango tbs tempest 200. me and my partner used ours early march, and it was great, and only 3kg in total and so so simple to put up, i think they do a 150 too.

Hi John,

Why do you want a 1 person tent? Is it because you want a very small size or a low weight?

I ask as some 2 person tents are lighter than 1 person....and the space is always welcome.

I have a Vango Micro 100 (the old blue model) which is pretty roomy for a 1 person and cheap, but not as light as other models. I guess unlesss you pay top wack weight or space goes!

What is your budget?

Try popping to Tesco's as they have a 2 man tent for about £7, cant grumble at that, you wouldnt have wasted that much either!!!

Hilleberg Acto are great, but not cheap. They are really light with internal pocket and a 'washing line' on the ceiling that you can hang small lights etc from. You get what you pay for really, so it depends what you really need. I think the best makes for very small tents are hilleberg or robert saunders, although most of the others are adequate. Where and when you are going, how you are getting there and how long you are staying all determine what you need. eg backpacking in winter needs a lightweight but sturdy tent whereas a week or two in summer in in a car means something heavier but more comfortable would be better.

yes the atko is supposed to be a great tent but pricy.i have a vango tempest 200 which imo is a good tent.i also have a robens stardust 1 which seems like a very good tent but i hav'nt used it yet.it only cost me £80.00 from gooutdoors and good for mountain use.i will be using it for wild camping in the mountains this year.only weighs 1.7 kg. the vango weighs 2.9 kg

Hi John.

Argos sell a one man tent for £15.

Believe that the magazine TGO (formerly The Great Outdoors) rated this highly based on weight, space, durability, practicality and value for money... having said that also believe that the design has changed since their review.

Possibly not the best tent for weight, space, durability, practicality and probably only won on value for money but this is the one that I'm toying with for getting away by myself for weekends over the spring and summer.

And bombproof!

Just back from 10 nights in Scottish Highlands and my Tempest dealt with all the atrocious weather just great.£300 would be a fair price

Don't waste your money on cheap disposable junk

i think £300 for a one man tent is quite a lot, we spent that on a 9 man!!!!
