Here's one for missElaineous

We bought a Coleman Weathermaster Plus last year and are really pleased with it.  Definitely the best tent we could have bought.  It replaced a Wynster that got trashed in high winds.

The only problem that we find is that the detachable roof section tends to flap about and lift when the wind gets under it.  After our last tent got trashed, we are a bit nervous about the same thing happening to the Coleman.

Has anyone else had the same problem.  Is there anything you can suggest, or do you think it's OK.  I just don't want any more ripped tents.

Any suggestions very welcome.

Many thanks missElaineous.  I knew you'd help.

I had thought about pitching into the wind, but as you point out, as soon as the wind changes direction......

I hadn't really tried to peg out the end guys as tightly as possible, but will do as soon as we can get out for our first trip of the year (kids are already asking when we can go)

I had tried to lash the roof down with spare guys, which partially worked but didn't look too pretty.

It's more the worry of something ripping

Perhaps i should stop going to campsites that are on the top of a cliff!

Thanks

GK
